Stripe retries it on the schedule set in your own Stripe dashboard. Jammed doesn't chase separately.
**While Stripe is retrying, the member keeps their perks.** Their account page tells them the card was declined, when the next attempt is, and that their perks keep working in the meantime. They also get an email saying the payment failed with a link to update their card.
**If Stripe gives up, the membership pauses.** Perks stop and their allowance is held rather than lost. Their page says "We tried your card several times with no luck, so your perks are on hold. Pay what's outstanding and everything comes straight back, nothing is lost." Paying restores everything immediately.
How long someone sits in retries before pausing is down to your Stripe retry settings, so change those in Stripe if you want it faster or slower.
Jammed doesn't deactivate the membership for non-payment. It stays in your list, paused, until you remove it or your Stripe settings cancel the subscription.
