> [!info]+ Jammed integrates fully with internet connected smart locks with a RemoteLock or Doorflow account Running a studio without staff on site around the clock is only possible if your customers can get in without you. Jammed's smart lock integrations solve this by tying door access directly to bookings. When a customer books and pays, they get an access code that works only for the duration of their session. When the session ends, access ends with it. No key handoffs, no waiting for someone to let them in, and no worrying about who has a copy of your keys. This guide covers both integrations Jammed supports: DoorFlow and RemoteLock. The two systems work slightly differently, but the principle is the same. You connect the platform, assign the hardware setup to each setup room, and Jammed handles the rest automatically. ## Why studios use smart locks The practical benefit is straightforward: you can take bookings at any hour without needing a member of staff to be there. That opens up early mornings, late nights, and weekends without adding to your wage bill. Beyond that, smart locks remove a common source of friction for customers. There is no risk of someone arriving and not being able to get in, and no chance of a customer turning up early and accessing a room that is still occupied. Each access code is scoped to an exact time window, so the handover between sessions is clean. Even if you do have staff onsite during your opening hours, connected locks will allow your staff then to access rooms with their phone or a fob for setup, or trusted or paying members access to some rooms without bookings. Much like with Stripe handling all payments, Doorflow and RemoteLock keeps a separate record of when customers actually entered, which can be useful if there is ever a dispute about a session or if you need to review access for a specific booking. ## DoorFlow Before you start, make sure you have an active [DoorFlow](https://doorflow.com) account and that your door hardware is set up and working within the DoorFlow platform. Jammed connects to your existing DoorFlow account; it does not manage the hardware setup. To connect DoorFlow to Jammed: 1. Go to **Settings > Integrations > Smart Locks** in your Jammed admin dashboard. 2. Find DoorFlow in the list and click **Connect**. 3. You will be prompted to login to your DoorFlow account, and confirm you'd like to connect it to Jammed.app. 4. Once saved, Jammed will sync with your DoorFlow account behind the scenes. Your door groups will appear on the Smart Locks page right away. ![[doorflow-connected.png]] If the connection fails, double-check that your API credentials are correct and that your DoorFlow account has the necessary permissions enabled. [Confirm: any specific DoorFlow account tier or permission needed?] ### Assigning door groups to rooms In DoorFlow, a door group is a collection of one or more doors that can be controlled together. For example, you might have a door group called "Studio A" that covers the main entrance and the door to the recording booth. Once DoorFlow is connected, you need to tell Jammed which door group corresponds to each room in your studio. 1. Go to **Settings > Rooms** and open the room you want to configure. 2. Scroll to the smart lock section and select the relevant DoorFlow door group from the dropdown. 3. Save your changes. ![[access-group-assign.png]] Repeat this for each room. If you have rooms that share an entrance, you can assign the same door group to multiple rooms. Once a door group is assigned, Jammed will automatically grant access to that group whenever a booking is confirmed for that room. The customer will receive their access details by email. Access is valid from the start of their booking until the end, and is then automatically revoked. --- ## RemoteLock As with DoorFlow, your [RemoteLock](https://remotelock.com) account and hardware need to be set up before you connect to Jammed. RemoteLock manages individual locks rather than groups, so each lock you want to use with Jammed should already be configured and online in your RemoteLock dashboard. To connect RemoteLock to Jammed: 1. Go to **Settings > Integrations > Smart Locks** in your Jammed dashboard. 2. Find RemoteLock in the list and click **Connect**. 3. You will be prompted to authorise Jammed to access your RemoteLock account. [Confirm: OAuth flow or API key?] 4. Once authorised, Jammed will sync your locks. They should appear in the list within a few moments. ![[remotelock-connected.png]] If a lock does not appear, check that it is online and active in your RemoteLock dashboard. There can be a short delay after a new lock is added before it shows up in Jammed. ### Assigning locks to rooms Unlike DoorFlow which uses groups, RemoteLock surfaces each lock individually. You assign a specific lock to each room in Jammed. 1. Go to **Settings > Rooms** and open the room you want to configure. 2. Scroll to the smart lock section and select the relevant lock from the RemoteLock dropdown. 3. Save your changes. ![[door-lock-devices.png]] Again, repeat this for each room. In RemoteLock, a studio can only be assigned to one door lock. When a booking is confirmed, Jammed generates a unique access code for that customer via RemoteLock. The code is valid only for the booked time window and is automatically deactivated when the session ends. --- ## What customers see on their booking After a booking is confirmed, the customer receives their access details in an email separate to the booking confirmation email. This includes the access code or PIN they need to enter at the door, along with the time window it is valid for. ![[email-with-code.png]] Customers can also view their access details by logging in to their Jammed account and opening the booking. The code and valid time window are displayed on the booking detail page. If a customer says they did not receive their access details, ask them to check their spam folder first. You can also resend the confirmation email from the booking in your dashboard. --- ## What you see on a booking In your Jammed dashboard, each booking that has a smart lock assigned will show the lock or door group details alongside the usual booking information. ![[door-code-on-booking.png]] For both Doorflow and RemoteLock, you will see the door access code that was issued to the customer, as well as detail around when the access was granted and the entry window for the customer to use the code. These are customisable on the Doorflow/RemoteLock side - you can provide access for 15 minutes before/after a booking, for example. We don't display when or if the code was used by the customer in Jammed. For this detail, look up the customer on Doorflow or RemoteLock in your account. --- ## FAQ **Do I need a DoorFlow or RemoteLock account before I connect to Jammed?** Yes. Jammed connects to your existing account and syncs your locks or door groups from there. You set up and manage the hardware in your DoorFlow or RemoteLock account; Jammed handles the booking side. **Can I use DoorFlow and RemoteLock at the same time?** No it's one or the other **What happens to the access code if a booking is cancelled?** When a booking is cancelled in Jammed, the access grant is removed and the code is deactivated. This happens right away as soon as the booking is cancelled. If they still try and use that code during the time, the lock won't open as the code has been revoked. **What happens if I move a booking?** Moving the time of a booking will update on Doorflow or RemoteLock automatically. The same code will still work for this new time. If the room changes, as in, they were booked in Studio One but now in Studio Two, then the door code will be moved to the new lock and revoked on the old lock. For instances where a smart lock isn't setup on the new room (or vice versa), then smart lock access won't be given. **Can I assign different locks or door groups to different rooms?** Yes. Each room is configured independently, so you can map each one to whatever lock or door group corresponds to that space. **A customer says their code is not working. What should I check?** Start by confirming the booking is still active and has not been cancelled. Then check that the room has a lock or door group assigned in Settings > Rooms. From there, go to Settings > Integrations and confirm the DoorFlow or RemoteLock connection is still active. If everything looks correct on the Jammed side, check whether the lock hardware is online in your DoorFlow or RemoteLock dashboard. If you still cannot find the issue, contact Jammed support with the booking reference and we can look into it further. **A lock I set up in RemoteLock/Doorflow is not showing in Jammed. Why?** There can be a short delay after a new lock is added before it syncs across. Wait a minute and refresh the page. If the issue persists, get in touch with Jammed support. **Does Jammed charge extra for smart lock integrations?** No. Smart lock integrations are included as part of your Jammed subscription.
