> [!info]+ Coupons and Promocodes are the way of offering tracked discounts within Jammed. They can be for staff-only use or customer facing ## Types of coupons Jammed support two main types of coupons: - **Internal use** - these are available to the studio staff and administrators only - **Customer facing** - these are available to the customer, and a code can be used to add the discount to their booking ### Set the scope of your promotion For customer facing coupons, you can set the scope of your promotion by choosing from the following options: - A discount percentage (e.g. 10% off all bookings) - A fixed amount discount (e.g. Get £10 off your next booking) - A specific room or time the coupon applies to (e.g. 10% off a morning session in the recording studio, or £5 off an evening slot in the DJ booth) ## Internal use only coupons To create a coupon that is available to the studio staff and administrators only, you create a coupon without 'customer facing codes'. You can then look this coupon up in the admin section, and add it to a booking or directly to the customer's account. This can be helpful for - Giving student discounts to verified student accounts - Giving discounts to staff members - Giving a discount to newly registered customers - Giving a discount to a customer that always just practices solo drum kit (we all know a few!) An example student discount coupon is shown below ![[student-discount.png]] ## Customer facing coupon codes These are coupons with 'customer facing codes'. These are available to the customer, and a code can be used at booking time to add the discount. This can be helpful for - Print advertising for the studio - Giving discounts to customers via social media - Giving a fixed time discount to all customers (e.g. 10% off all bookings for the month of January) An example summer discount coupon is shown below, with the public code 'SUMMER20' ![[summer-discount.png]] ## Tracking with multiple promocodes One coupon can have multiple promocodes. This can be helpful for offering the same discount to different groups of customers. This allows you to track the usage of each market or channel individually. An example of a coupon with multiple promocodes is shown below: ![[multiple-promocodes.png]] You can then publicise each of the promocodes to different channels. For example, you may want to publicise 'SUMMER20IG' on Instagram, and 'SUMMER20TT' on TikTok. ## Limiting the promotion of coupons > Coupons can be limited to only apply for certain bookings Within Jammed, you can limit the promotion to be one or all of the below: - The room/space the booking is taking place in - The [booking activity](obsidian://open?vault=Jammed%20docs&file=Settings%2FBooking%20Activities) that is taking place (e.g. rehearsal, recording, production etc.) - The day of the week it's taking place - The hour of the day it's taking place These limits are applied in addition to any other limits you have set on the coupon itself, such as the maximum number of uses, expiry date, or maximum discount amount. ## Room and activity promotion limits The room and activity limits are often used in conjunction with each other. For example, you may want to offer a discount to all customers for a specific activity in a specific room, but only want to offer that discount for a certain number of hours each day. ![[room-activity-limits.png]] ## Day promotion limits For the day promotion limit, you can set the coupon to only be valid for a certain day of the week. For example, you may want to offer a discount to all customers on a Mondy or Friday. > Please note - the booking will have to fully fit within the day you have selected for the coupon to be applied. So a booking that starts at Monday 10:30pm and finishes at 1:30am the following morning will not be valid if the promotion limit is set to just Monday. An example of a coupon with a day promotion limit is shown below: ![[day-limit.png]] ## Hour promotion limits For the hour promotion limit, you can set the coupon to only be valid for a certain number of hours each day. For example, you may want to offer a discount to all customers from 10am to 12pm each day. An example of a coupon with an hour promotion limit is shown below: ![[hour-limit.png]] Again, the booking will have to fully fit within the hours you have selected for the coupon to be applied. So a booking that starts at 10:30am and finishes at 12:30pm will not be valid if the promotion limit is set to 10am to 12pm.
