> [!info]+ Customers who booked without an account can cancel it themselves, at any hour, and get their refund or credit under the rules you already set. For public studios, most people book a rehearsal room without making an account. They pick a time, pay, and get a confirmation email. A customer with an account can cancel from their profile on the website or app. Guests can cancel from the same confirmation page they were already sent, and via a link in the confirmation email. ## What the customer does 1. **They open their confirmation email:** The confirmation email has a **Manage your booking** link. It goes to the booking confirmation page on Jammed. 2. **They ask for a validation email:** We need to validate the customer still has access to the email we have - we send a fresh email to the address that made the booking, with a single use link back to the same page. 3. **They follow that link:** Only now does the real cancel button appear. They can cancel, cancel and refund, or cancel for credit, depending on your website settings. This link lasts thirty minutes to prevent abuse. 4. **It cancels and settles.** The booking is cancelled and the refund or credit goes out through exactly the same process you or a signed in customer would trigger. The slot is free to sell again straight away. ## Why there is a second email A confirmation email gets forwarded to the rest of the band, screenshotted, and left open on a shared laptop. If the link in it could cancel a booking, any of those people could cancel the whole session. Requiring a second, fresh email means whoever cancels has to prove, at that moment, that they can read the inbox the booking was made from. ## Your rules still decide Nothing here overrides a policy. It lets the customer act within the one you already wrote. - Whether they can cancel at all is checked against your cancellation cutoff, per room or studio wide. - Whether they get money back or studio credit follows the setting you already chose. - If you have online cancellation switched off, guests cannot cancel, exactly as before. See [[Booking Settings]] for where those cutoffs and refund rules live.
